How To Make Killer Hot Fudge Sauce!
I am a MANIC HOT FUDGE SUNDAE FANATIC, and I eat them as often as I can: at home, in restaurants or at ice cream shops. But, truthfully, the sauce never measures up to this recipe that I’ve had forever. All my family and friends (and friends of my friends and their friends who beg me for the recipe once they’ve tasted it) ooh and aww over it every time I serve it, which is every time I have them over for dinner (there would be a mutiny if I didn’t).
It’s that good.
And it’s easy-peasy. Takes 5 minutes.
But don’t believe me. Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!
Recipe
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate baking bars (I use Baker’s. I’ve tried many brands but like this one best).
1 cup granulated sugar
⅛ tsp. salt
1 tbls. butter
½ cup half and half cream (or some kind of light cream)
½ tsp. pure vanilla extract
Directions: On medium heat in a heavy saucepan, melt the baking chocolate, salt and butter together. Add the sugar and mix well. It will be a very thick sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low and slowly add the cream, stirring constantly until well blended. Add vanilla. Drizzle over ice cream and enjoy! (My family and friends tease me that they will have a little ice cream with their hot fudge sauce).
That’s it!
I love it best with the highest quality vanilla ice cream available and a few salted peanuts sprinkled on top.
Bon Appetit!
